Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri insists Eden Hazard will remain at the club beyond the end of his contract in 2020.
The Belgian has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and he has spoken over his desire to join Los Blancos.
However, despite the links, the West London club’s manager is adamant Hazard will remain beyond the end of his deal.
Sarri on Hazard: “He’s staying here”
The former SSC Napoli manager has stated that Hazard will remain at Stamford Bridge despite the interest from the European champions.
Sarri told Corriere dello Sport:
“His contract expires in 2020, but he’s staying here.”
Sarri: “Hazard is immense”
The Chelsea manager also believes that the 27-year-old has much more scope for improvement.
Sarri is confident Hazard can become one of the best players in the world but insists he must change his mentality in order to reach his full potential.
“Hazard is immense and I don’t think even he knows how much he can still improve.
“I said he could end up in the tight circle of the best three or four players in the world.
“The problem is he plays to enjoy himself and at times doesn’t realise the importance of moving from fun to reaping the rewards.
“At the end of the day, you’ve got to get the fruits of your labour.
“Hazard’s approach is a positive, but it can become a potential limitation too.
“He needs to lift his head up, look around and realise there’s a whole world in front of him that he can dictate with his feet for the good of the collective and not just the individual.”
