Mauricio Pochettino warns Man City & Liverpool about the title race

Mauricio Pochettino during Tottenham vs Barcelona

Tottenham 1 – Burnley 0

Spurs fans were put through a gruelling afternoon at Wembley Stadium on Saturday against Burnley, but right at the death Tottenham did it.

Christian Eriksen scored the 89th minute winner from a Harry Kane assist to earn Spurs three big points.

Burnley had defended steadfastly, however the Clarets offered little going forward.

The win leaves Tottenham third in the Premier League after 17 games. They have 39 points.

The Lillywhites, who failed to sign any players in the summer, are three points behind Liverpool (before the Man United game) and five points behind Man City.

Man City & Liverpool are warned

Can Tottenham win the Premier League?

Detractors will often cite to the year Leicester won the title. Tottenham should have won that league in 2015-6.

Spurs are still looking to win a trophy under Mauricio Pochettino.

Can Tottenham really come above Man City and Liverpool in this year’s title race?

After Burnley, Pochettino was super positive about his side’s chances this season:

We are in a very good position. We are there, that is the reality after 17 games 39 points we are third in the table.

That is a massive achievement for us. We are there, we are close.

In football all is possible. Look what happened in the Champions League after three games only one point and nobody believed.

We believed it was possible and in the end we believed and now are in the next stage of the competition. Football is the same.

There are a lot of things you need to put into consideration but the most important thing in football is belief and faith in the way you play and work and if you give 100 per cent all can happen.
