Arsenal vs BATE Borisov
Will Arsenal’s Europa League journey end tonight?
The Gunners are 1-0 down against BATE Borisov in their last-32 tie.
Many will believe Arsenal can turn the tie around on home soil. But will they?
Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League. They are in a battle with Man United and Chelsea to finish fourth.
Should the Gunners miss out on the top four, they could still qualify for next season’s Champions League if they win the Europa league.
Matteo Guendouzi out, Mesut Ozil in
On Thursday morning the Times have gone about predicted how Arsenal may line-up against BATE Borisov.
The big news is that Mesut Ozil is likely to return to Unai Emery’s starting XI.
Ozil, who has struggled to get minutes in recent months, is expected to line up in the number 10 role.
The German World Cup winner is tipped to play behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Arsenal attack.
There’s no room for Aaron Ramsey in the team as the Welsh midfielder recovers from a knee problem.
Elsewhere, the Times predict that Matteo Guendouzi will be left out of the Arsenal eleven.
Instead of the 19-year-old Frenchman, Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torriera are expected to dovetail in the middle of the park.
Who else will start for Arsenal?
As he has done throughout the campaign, Unai Emery will select Petr Cech in goal in the Europa League over Bernd Leno.
Sokratis is expected to return at the back, while there are some interesting full-back predictions.
Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sead Kolasinac may get the nod over Nacho Monreal and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
