Stoke v Chelsea: Premier League preview
Chelsea take on Stoke in the Premier League at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.
The Blues will be looking to close the gap on the two Manchester sides following last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the Bridge.
Both sides fielded rotated line-ups in the Carabao Cup in midweek. Chelsea hosted Championship side Nottingham Forest, while Stoke were dumped out of the competition by Bristol City.
Stoke’s 2-0 defeat was their second on the spin, following last weekend’s defeat at Newcastle. Xherdan Shaqiri’s effort was not enough for the Potters to pick up a point.
Although they are without a win in four in all competitions, Stoke have recorded positive results in both of their only two home Premier League matches this season.
Both games were against top six opposition; a 1-0 win over Arsenal and a 2-2 draw with Manchester United.
