Stoke vs Tottenham: Premier League preview

Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday for their Premier League clash at Stoke.

Manchester City are the only side to pick up more points on the road than Spurs this season. Mauricio Pochettino’s side average nearly two goals a game on the road, scoring 31 times in their 16 matches.

A win for Spurs would take them one step closer to securing Champions League football next season. They begin the weekend 8 points above Chelsea who are fifth in the table.

Spurs won for the sixth time in their last seven last weekend, recording their first ever Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge. Goals from Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli (2) handed Spurs a 3-1 win against their London rivals.

Stoke, who are four points from safety, have only won five of their home matches this season.

The Potters have lost three on the spin and are without a win in any of their last eight.

Last time out, Paul Lambert’s side lost 3-0 at Arsenal, although the scoreline somewhat flattered the Gunners.

Spurs demolished Stoke in December’s reverse fixture at Wembley. Heung-min Son, Harry Kane (2) and Christian Eriksen scored on that occasion. Ryan Shawcross, who netted an own goal in the first half, scored a consolation goal late on for the Potters.
