Huddersfield Town vs Manchester United: FA Cup Fifth Round preview

Manchester United take on Huddersfield Town at the Kirklees Stadium on Saturday in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Huddersfield’s 4-1 win over Bournemouth at the weekend sees them move out of the relegation zone. Alex Pritchard, Steve Mounie and Rajiv Van La Parra all netted in Huddersfield’s win.

The victory was a second consecutive 4-1 win for David Wagner’s side, following their 4-1 win over Birmingham City in their fourth round replay.

Huddersfield beat Bolton 2-1 in the third round.

Manchester United suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday, leaving them 16 points adrift of neighbours Man City.

United saw off Derby County and Yeovil in previous rounds of the competition, winning 2-0 and 4-0 respectively.

The two sides have already met twice in the Premier League this season. Huddersfield were surprise 2-1 winners at the Kirklees Stadium in October. Aaron Mooy and Laurent Depoitre gave the Terriers a 2-0 lead at half-time before Marcus Rashford pulled one back in the second half.

More recently, United beat Huddersfield 2-0 at Old Trafford earlier this month. Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez were on the scoresheet.
