Belgium & Japan prepare for the World Cup

Belgium took part in arguably the best international friendly of the international break so far on Friday.

The Belgium Red Devils draw 3-3 at home with Mexico featured two goals from Romelu Lukaku.

The Manchester United striker is now joint equal with Belgium’s all-time top goal scorers Paul van Himst & Bernard Voorhoof for most goals in team history (30).

Also on Friday, Japan were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Brazil in Lille. The South American giants had the game sown up well before half-time.

Belgium v Japan early team news

Romelu Lukaku could well get an opportunity to grab the Belgium goal scoring record versus Japan outright. Although it would be a surprise if he plays the full game.

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has been training individually over the weekend and is unlikely to be risked against Japan.

Jan Vertonghen picked up an injury and missed the Mexico game, the Spurs man has stayed with the Belgium squad and could play some part as well.
