Match of the Day returns!
After the international break, and a helter skelter Saturday in the Premier League, it is great to welcome back Match of the Day.
With no Gary Lineker presenting Match of the Day it has been left to Dan Walker to reveal the running order.
Manchester City are on first thanks to their excellent win at Everton on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s side had the game wrapped up thanks to goals from Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling before half-time.
Liverpool are second on Match of the Day
Liverpool were arguably involved in the Premier League game of the day as they won 2-1 at Crystal Palace.
The scoreline does not tell the true story of proceedings though. Palace were leading for a big chunk of the match. Sadio Mane equalised after half-time.
And, it was that man Mohamed Salah who won the match with six minutes remaining.
West Ham third on Match of the Day
West Ham’s massive win over Southampton is third on Match of the Day.
It was a huge victory for the Hammers, who are now in a much safer place both literally and psychologically than before kick off.
Fourth is Newcastle’s big win over Huddersfield. And on fifth on Match of the Day is Manchester United’s win over Swansea.
Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku did the damage.
The flagship BBC show ends with Watford 2 – Bournemouth 2, West Brom 1 – Burnley 2 and Brighton 0 – Leicester 2.
