Deal is off
Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez will not be leaving the King Power to join Manchester City after a deal between the two clubs fell through.
It had been reported over the past 24 hours that Man City had made their move for the Algerian.
First it started off with a £50million bid, eventually rising to their final offer which reportedly was £65million with a player included.
Though, the most recent reports now suggest that a deal to sign Mahrez has fallen through, you would expect because they didn’t meet Leicester’s valuation.
The club were said to be extremely keen to keep hold of the player until the summer only an astronomical fee would convince them otherwise.
With that in mind, it looks as though £65million and a player is not enough to persuade Claude Puel to part ways.
There were no suggestions as to who the player Manchester City offered is.
It could now be an awkward few days for the player though, having submitted a transfer request.
There were even suggestions he went awol ahead of the side’s game with Everton this evening.
Other reports suggested that the Leicester players were very unhappy with how he conducted himself approaching the deadline.
That could leave for a very frosty reception when he returns to the training ground on Thursday.

Manchester City star nearing exit
While it looks as though there will be no arrivals at the Etihad, one player is heading out.
That is because reports suggest one player is close to completing a move to another Premier League club.
That deal will likely go through before the end of the deadline and could be interesting for City and the side he is leaving for.
