Ireland boss Martin O’Neill has confirmed post-Wales game that Seamus Coleman has badly broken his leg and has been taken to hospital.
The Everton defender was challenged by Neil Taylor during the game in which can only be described as reckless.
It soon became apparent that the injury was serious with Shane Long having to confront his captain.
Speaking after the game, O’ Neill explained: “It’s a bad break. Seamus is a fantastic player and character – it’s a major blow for the lad, for his club and for us.”
Wales manager Chris Coleman also revealed post-game that Taylor was “quiet and despondent” in the dressing room.
