Arnautovic’s time at West Ham
Marko Arnautovic joined West Ham United in July of 2017, moving from Stoke City for a fee believed to be around £20m.
In his first season with the Hammers, the Austrian managed to score 11 and assist eight in 35 league outings.
This past season saw the forward achieve a similar total, netting 10 and assisting four in 28 Premier League fixtures.
However, while those are decent numbers for a striker, the Austrian hasn’t always had the best time in London.
Arnautovic leaves for China
Arnautovic’s future was up in the air back in January, when it was reported that an unnamed Chinese club had bid £35m for his services.
However, the striker would end up signing a contract extension, rather than leaving the club.
But, with the summer transfer window open, it had been heavily-rumoured of late that Arnautovic’s West Ham stint was nevertheless set to come to an end.
On the 3rd of July, it was reported that Arnautovic had handed in a transfer request, amid another bid from a Chinese club.
West Ham would then confirm on Monday the 8th of July, in a rather short statement, that Arnautovic had joined Shanghai SIPG.

The striker himself has since sent a message to West Ham and the club’s fans via his Instagram:
Thank you to everyone at West Ham. Especially goodbye and thanks to the fans who were always good to me.
