Mario Mandzukic remains a transfer option for Man United in January – Sky

Mandzukic’s Juventus stint

Mario Mandzukic has been on Juventus’ books for just over four years now.

The Croatian made the switch to Italy in July of 2015, moving from Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid.

Juve are believed to have paid around £21m for the towering forward’s services.

The experienced hitman has racked up 162 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A giants, in which he has scored 44 and assisted 18.

However, Mandzukic is finding minutes very hard to come by in the 2019/20 campaign.

In fact, the former Bayern Munich man is yet to rack up a single appearance for Juve this term.

Man United linked

With Mandzukic’s playing time in Italy dwindling, the forward has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Stadium recently.

It was even reported on Thursday that Mandzukic could start training with Premier League outfit Manchester United as early as December, after deciding to move to Old Trafford.

However, Sky Sports News have since moved to dismiss those claims.

The report from Sky instead states that while Mandzukic remains a transfer option for Man United, he will not train with the club before the January window opens:

Mario Mandzukic remains a transfer option for Manchester United in January, but will not train with the club prior to the window opening, Sky Sports News understands.

Mandzukic’s current contract with Juventus is set to expire in June of 2021.
