Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are of course currently locked in action with champions Liverpool at Anfield.

The clash marks the biggest of the English top-flight campaign so far, pitting the division’s top two sides against one another.

It was visitors United who headed into proceedings boasting the advantage in the title race, having moved 3 points clear of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds on the back of a hard-fought downing of Burnley during the week.

As things stand on Merseyside this evening, though, it remains honours even between the Red Devils and their hosts.

A cagey first-half, during which Liverpool largely dominated, saw both sides struggle to carve out clear-cut opportunities, with a Bruno Fernandes free-kick in the 33rd-minute the closest that either came to opening the game’s scoring:

Rashford’s offside woes

One of the stars on show to have endured a particularly frustrating opening 45 minutes, meanwhile, was Marcus Rashford.

The English international was tasked with acting as the visitors’ main threat in behind, in floating across the frontline alongside strike partner Anthony Martial.

Liverpool’s high backline, though, proved a difficult one for Rashford to judge, resulting in the 23-year-old being caught offside on no fewer than 4 occasions during the first-half alone.

This, remarkably, saw Rashford equal the record-high for offside calls in a Premier League fixture this season, after Heung-min Son did likewise (albeit over the course of 90 minutes) en route to a 4-goal haul versus Southampton back in September:
