Marcos Rojo on ‘bighead’ Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Manchester United have recently welcomed Marcos Rojo back into the fold.
Rojo has been sidelined with an ACL injury, just like Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Indeed, both Rojo and Ibrahimovic suffered their injuries in the same Europa League match against Anderlecht last season.
While Ibra has come off the bench in the last three matches for United, Rojo’s reintegration has been a little slower.
Either way, Rojo has now given a new interview with Argentine outlet Clarin, and he’s dropped a few updates about Zlatan.
The most interesting point of note is that claim Zlatan has no intention of going to the 2018 World Cup with Sweden. Rojo said:
He [Mourinho]’s always happy, close to the players. He’s a very happy person, he helped me a lot, he got the best out of me.
He always tells us to play quietly in practice because with Ibra we kill each other with kicks.
He [Ibrahimovic]’s an amazing character, but for those who don’t know him, he seems like a bighead but he’s a phenomenon, he’s a beast who goes forward and wants to win everything.
I asked Ibra that now that they are in the World Cup if he would like to go, he says no but I don’t know. For me he has to go.
Watford v Man United
Rojo could be back in Man United’s XI on Tuesday night at Watford in the Premier League.
Watford made it back-to-back wins with a convincing victory at Newcastle on Saturday. Will Hughes opened the scoring with his second goal in as many matches. An own goal from DeAndre Yedlin doubled Watford’s lead before Andre Gray wrapped things up.
The victory leaves Watford in 8th, two points behind Liverpool and three behind Spurs.
Man United followed up their midweek Champions League defeat with a narrow 1-0 win over Brighton, courtesy of an own goal from Lewis Dunk. Jose Mourinho admitted after the match that he thought Brighton deserved more.
With Man City only in action on Wednesday night, United have the chance to temporarily close the gap on the league leaders to five points.
