Schneiderlin is going nowhere
Everton boss Marco Silva has claimed that it’s ‘impossible’ for Morgan Schneiderlin to leave the club, after the domestic transfer window closed.
The Toffees brought in a plethora of players this summer.
Those players include Alex Iwobi, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Moise Kean, Fabian Delph, Djibril Sidibé, Andre Gomes and Jonas Lossl.
With that squad, the Toffees will be looking to break into the top six in the coming season.
However, Everton have also sold many players.
While Idrissa Gueye and Ademola Lookman are the two most notable departures, the likes of Nikola Vlasic, James McCarthy and Phil Jagielka have also left.
The list won’t end there either, with several players still likely to leave before the European transfer window closes.
But one player who won’t be going anywhere is Morgan Schneiderlin.
“It’s impossible for Morgan Schneiderlin to leave our club”
The Frenchman is now somewhat of a rotation player, with Andre Gomes and Idrissa Gueye often preferred last season.
While Gueye left, Jean-Philippe Gbamin has come in to take his place.
Abdoulaye Doucouré was also linked with a move to Everton, which would have pushed Schneiderlin further down the pecking order.
As a result, Schneiderlin was linked with a move to Galatasaray.
However, with Everton now looking pretty short in midfield, Silva has claimed that Schneiderlin leaving is ‘impossible’.
“It’s impossible for Morgan Schneiderlin to leave our club,” Silva explained, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“If you look at our squad now and the number of players we have, we lost Gana in that position – and good luck to him, he did fantastic things in our club.
“In that position we have Morgan and Gbamin. At this moment we have two players for that position and it’s impossible for Morgan to leave our club.”
