Marco Silva responds to Jose Mourinho over Man United top six claim

Marco Silva having none of it

Everton boss Marco Silva has responded to Jose Mourinho’s comments claiming Man United will be above the Toffees at the end of the season.

The Blues have had a pretty decent few months in the Premier League, winning five of their last eight, losing only two.

That has saw them up into the top six spots and have remained there for a couple of weeks now.

However, their last performance against Newcastle on Wednesday evening left a lot to be desired.

Their closest rival for the top six, Manchester United, also drew last night with Arsenal.

Before that game, Mourinho claimed that his side will be above Everton at the end of the season.

He claimed that “I don’t think Everton is going to be in front of Manchester United by the end of the season”.

Now, Marco Silva has responded.

“Let’s see at the end of the season if his prediction is right or not”

The Portuguese boss was discussing his compatriot on Thursday ahead of their game with Watford on Monday.

Silva was quick to dismiss Mourinho’s comments, claiming that it was just his prediction and ‘nothing more’.

After that, the Everton boss claimed we will have to wait and “see at the end of the season if his prediction is right or not.”

“This is a Jose prediction, nothing more,” Silva explained.

“His obligation is the top six, he knows. Let’s see at the end of the season if his prediction is right or not.”
