Who fits the bill for Everton?
Everton boss Marco Silva has described the kind of forward that he wants the club to sign ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Toffees haven’t had the greatest of seasons.
Despite impressing earlier on in the campaign, Marco Silva’s Everton have been struggling since December.
One of their problem positions comes up front with several striking options that are not really of the required quality.
22-year-old striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has potential but is not good enough right now to lead Everton into an ambitious future.
Cenk Tosun has also largely failed to impress having joined from Besiktas.
With reports that Everton are looking to complete another summer overhaul this summer, Marco Silva has been describing which kind of striker he wants.
“It is really important you have some mobility…”
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Silva suggested he wanted a striker with mobility.
Though, they still need the ability to find the net!
When asked about what he wanted, Silva replied “an ability to score!”
“That is the first one.
“If you can be a target man, like we have with Dominic (Calvert-Lewin) now and like I had in some clubs, is also really important.
“But I also like some mobility in the striker.
“Today, in football, it is really important you have some mobility in that position because the defenders are stronger and if you can have some mobility to connect the game with your midfielders and, after that, to have the capacity to score goals is really important.
“Mobility and the capacity to connect with your team is really important to me but, the most important thing for them and for me as a manager, is if they have the capacity to score the goals.”
One player who certainly fits that bill and has been linked recently is Lille’s Rafael Leao.
It has been suggested that the Toffees have Leao on a summer shortlist ahead of the transfer window.
