Prior to the win over Chelsea though Everton had struggled for form, winning just one of their last four league outings.

Everton are currently 11th in the Premier League and four points off 7th place Wolves. However, Wolves do have a game in hand on the Toffees.

As for West Ham, they sit 9th in the league, two points above Everton having won three of their last five.

Although, their last win was not exactly convincing as they had to come from 3-1 down against bottom of the table, Huddersfield.

Andre Gomes injury update

Ahead of the West Ham tie, Marco Silva has provided an update on Andre Gomes.

Gomes was taken off in the 68th minute vs Chelsea and now appears to be carrying a knock.

However, Silva is hopeful that the midfielder’s injury is only minor:

“We had a problem with Andre but I hope it is a small problem.”

Gomes has played 23 Premier League games for Everton this season, scoring one and assisting one.
