Marco Silva discusses possibility of Everton signing Andre Gomes permanently

Where will Andre Gomes end up next season?

Marco Silva has opened up on the possibility of Everton signing loan star Andre Gomes in the summer, following reports of Tottenham interest.

Gomes has been a revelation at Goodison Park this season.

Having joined on loan from Barcelona at the beginning of the campaign, Gomes is now a key component in Marco Silva’s side.

His performances have been so good that clubs such as Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with moves for him this summer.

With that in mind, Everton need to move fast and get a deal done soon.

Now, Marco Silva has spoken out about Everton’s hopes of signing Gomes permanently.

“Let’s see what we can do”

Speaking to the Times, Silva has confirmed that Everton do want to sign Gomes and claimed that the Toffees are waiting on Barcelona’s decision to sell him or not.

“Let’s see what Barcelona’s decision is about him, if they want to sell the player or not,” Silva said.

“Then we will see André’s decision and, in the end, let’s see what we can do.

“It is up to us to do what we can to keep our best players in our squad.

“If the player is linked with other good, strong clubs in the Premier League, it shows he has quality.”

The Times’ report also confirms that Tottenham are interested in signing Gomes.

If Everton don’t get a deal done soon, there is certainly a chance that he could end up elsewhere.
