Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has revealed his ideal lineup consisting of players whom he has played alongside over the course of his career, with representatives from a number of Europe’s top clubs.
Marcelo has long been regarded as one of the finest full-backs in world football, with his contributions for Real since arriving at the Bernabeu from Fluminense in 2007 having seen Los Blancos rack up 4 La Liga titles, 3 Champions Leagues and a pair of Copa Del Reys over that span.
He has also managed to collect 52 caps for Brazil, and is expected to play a starring role for the Selecao at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Speaking in an interview with AS earlier this week, Marcelo was questioned on a number of his current and former teammates, with the gifted South American eventually asked to provide his ‘ultimate XI’, consisting of players whom he has taken to the pitch with over the course of his career.
And the Real Madrid star’s final lineup is an absolute sight to behold, with current Blancos’ teammates Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric, Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo all included, and Modric named as the team’s captain.
Los Merengues’ manager Zinedine Zidane is also included, despite the fact that Marcelo never actually lined out alongside his current boss.
There is also room for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil, Brazilian international teammates Dani Alves, Thiago Silva and Neymar, and former Selecao stars Julio Cesar and Roberto Carlos.
