Dortmund bus explosion
Tonight’s game between Borussia Dortmund and Monaco has been postponed due to an explosion just a few kilometres away from the stadium.
The two teams were due to play the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final in Dortmund tonight, but the game has been postponed until tomorrow due to this unforeseen and shocking event.
The bus carrying the Dortmund team to the stadium was reportedly caught up in the explosion, leaving one person injured: Marc Bartra.
The whys and hows of this explosion remain unclear, and police are currently investigating the situation.
Bartra is ok
But thankfully, the Spanish defender is OK.
He was rushed to hospital following the incident, but his injuries are only deemed mild and superficial.
Bartra has been in brilliant form for the German side since signing from Barcelona last summer, although he hasn’t always been a regular starter for Tuchel’s team.
He’s really become a part of the Dortmund family, as he showed by tracking down a superfan who impressed him during the Ruhr derby.
Sky say Bartra's injuries are superficial.
