How many Arsenal fans are making the trip to Milan on Thursday?

AC Milan vs Arsenal

The end of the season can’t come quick enough for Arsenal fans. This season has been debatably the worst campaign for the Gunners in the Premier League era.

As of today, the 6th March, Arsenal are 33 points behind league leaders Manchester City and just 25 points ahead of bottom club, West Brom.

Arsenal have lost their last 4 matches in all competitions and next up for Wenger’s team is AC Milan.

Milan themselves weren’t enjoying the best of seasons up until recently but Gennaro Gattuso has turned things around at the San Siro.

Could Thursday’s match be Wenger’s last game in charge of Arsenal Football Club? (Probably not)

How many Arsenal fans are heading to Milan?

Arsenal were allocated 4,000 tickets for the Europa League clash on Thursday. If the club received enough demand, AC Milan would give them a further 1,000 tickets.

However, only 2,000 Gooners will be making the trip to Milan on Thursday and it’s easy to see why.

The tweet states that there will be 67,000 people at the match with 2,000 ‘English fans’ (Arsenal fans) coming.

Firstly, many Arsenal fans seem to have given up hope with this team and they are not prepared to spend their money to fly to Milan and most probably watch their side lose yet again.

Secondly, the draw was made on the 23rd of February, giving Arsenal fans less than two weeks to book their travel and accommodation for the match.

AC Milan vs Arsenal prediction

Arsenal haven’t played at the San Siro since February 2012. The Gunners lost 4-0 that day in what turned out to be Thierry Henry’s last ever game for the club.

Unfortunately for the 2,000 Arsenal fans making the trip, a similar result can be expected this time around.

AC Milan 3-0 Arsenal
