Man United’s squad vs Man City

The Manchester Evening News have revealed who is in Man United’s squad for the derby against City on Wednesday.

M.E.N have sourced their information by sending photographers out on Tuesday night as the United squad got together.

Interestingly, the United team met-up at a different location than usual.

The Lowry Hotel is the common venue where United’s players gather before matchdays.

However before the City game, United switched their meet-up point to The Hilton Hotel on Deansgate.

Confirmed Man United squad

Goalies: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant

Defenders: Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian, Diogo Dalot, Chris Smallng, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw

Midfielders: Fred, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata

Forwards: Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial

The main absentee was Phil Jones.

The centre-half was subbed out of last weekend’s 4-0 humiliation at Everton with an injury.

Man United’s predicted XI vs Man City

The Times have gone about guessing at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI vs Man City.

It’s worth noting that United come into the derby with six defeats in their last eight games.

In an attempt to arrest that losing run, OGS is tipped to start both Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku in his attack.

Jesse Lingard is expected to complete the Man United forward trio, while there’s no room for Anthony Martial in the team.

Paul Pogba, despite going off the boil recently, will retain his spot in midfield.

Fred and Scott McTominay are also expected to start, leaving the likes of Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata out the XI.

At the back Luke Shaw will return after suspension, while Ashley Young is set to start at right-back.
