Manchester United vs Fulham betting tips: Premier League match preview and predictions

Manchester United vs Fulham prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Fulham

Manchester United are continuing to plod along, rotting in mid-table.

Mourinho’s men are now a long way behind the top 4 and they cannot afford any more dropped points here.

Fulham meanwhile are enjoying life under Claudio Ranieri but surely they can’t win at Old Trafford for the first time since 2003, can they?

Manchester United vs Fulham: Who will win?

Despite their poor form, Manchester United are big favourites to win at 4/11.

Fulham have not won on the road all season but are 7/1 to change that on the biggest stage of all.

A draw, which Ranieri would be delighted with is 4/1.

Fulham are yet to keep a clean sheet all season; Manchester United have managed just two. That makes over 2.5 goals at 4/7 and both teams to score at 4/5 look like good value.

Manchester United to win and both teams to score is 7/4.

Marcus Rashord will lead the line for the hosts. He’s 9/2 to break the deadlock and 5/4 to score anytime.

Despite his team’s poor form, Aleksandar Mitrović continues to score goals. Only 6 players have more in the league so far than the Serb and he’s 7/1 to score first and 2/1 to net in 90 minutes.

Both Rashford and Martial to score is 7/2.

Manchester United vs Fulham: Match preview

The famous Theatre of Dreams has been a place of nightmares for José Mourinho’s team.

They have won just 4 of their 11 home matches in all competitions this season beating only Leicester, Newcastle, Everton and Young Boys, each time just by a one goal margin.

Their last Premier League victory came back on 3 November; that 2-1 win at Bournemouth.

Since, they were humbled 3-1 in the derby and held to draws by strugglers Crystal Palace and Southampton.

On Wednesday, they came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Arsenal at Old Trafford; a positive result.

However, that result leaves them in eighth place, behind Bournemouth, and 8 points off the top 4.

They simply must win this game.

At Fulham meanwhile, Claudio Ranieri’s appointment appears to be having the desired effect.

From the 12 games that Slaviša Jokanović took charge of, they only amassed 5 points, losing their last 6 games under him.

However, Ranieri came in and won his first match in charge, beating Southampton 3-2.

This week, he faced two reunions with old teams.

First, his return to Stamford Bridge was always going to be a challenge for his team but they gave a good account of themselves in a narrow 2-0 defeat.

Then Fulham hosted Leicester on Wednesday.

Aboubakar Kamara’s first ever Premier League goal did give them the lead in the first half but, they could not hold on and, the match finished all square.

This is another free hit for the Cottagers but can they cause a huge upset?

José Mourinho injury list is getting longer as each game goes by.

Victor Lindelöf, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw are all missing so Wednesday saw a cobbled together defence.

Both Diogo Dalot and Marcos Rojo started in the Premier League for the first time this season.

However, with Antonio Valencia back, Dalot will drop out.

Ashley Young is also back after serving a one match ban.

Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku were both left on the bench against Arsenal but both are expected to start.

That’s partially due to Anthony Martial’s injury and, with Alexis Sánchez also out, there’s a space in the front three for the Belgian.

Martial is expected to be fit after coming off with an issue on Wednesday night. The Frenchman will likely start on the bench.

Will this team get only Man United’s seventh league win of the season?

Fulham’s side looks a bit more settled under Ranieri; especially at the back.

Sergio Rico has started the last 6 league games in goal but is yet to keep a clean sheet.

The same back 4 has started all of Ranieri’s games.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who hasn’t been featuring much anyway, is ineligible against his parent club.

Maxime Le Marchand is covering at left-back whilst Joe Byran nurses an injury.

Calum Chambers is enjoying a new lease of life in holding midfield.

They played 4-3-3 on Wednesday but are likely to revert to the 4-4-2 diamond they used at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

That would see captain Tom Cairney come into midfield alongside Jean Michaël Seri.

André-Frank Zambo Anguissa is back from injury so is likely to start ahead of Stefan Johansen.

If they do use the 4-4-2 diamond, Ryan Sessegnon will partner top scorer Aleksandar Mitrović up front.

That would mean that, Aboubakar Kamara, André Schürrle and Luciano Vietto are all left in reserve.

Will this Fulham team leave Old Trafford with something?
