Manchester United vs Club Brugge prediction: Manchester United 1-0 Club Brugge

Manchester United are unbeaten in 17 of their last 18 matches in the Europa League and will be confident of progressing to the round of 16.

Club Brugge are unbeaten in their last 10 matches on the road in all competitions, although a trip to Old Trafford will be their toughest test in that run.

United will be wise to remember that Philippe Clement’s side scored two goals in a 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu in October – an identical result would see Brugge qualify on the away goals rule.

Manchester United vs Club Brugge: Who will win?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won three, lost two and drawn one of their previous six matches at Old Trafford. Manchester United are 1/2 to win the match while Club Brugge are 13/2 to win. The draw can be backed at 3/1.

Having scored an away goal, Manchester United will begin the game as favourites to qualify but the tie should be closer than many might expect. Manchester United are 1/5 to qualify while Brugge are 10/3 to qualify.

Manchester United have kept a clean sheet in six of their last eight Europa League matches at Old Trafford. Bet on a Manchester United clean sheet at 4/5.

Bruno Fernandes has already shown he is not afraid to have a shot at goal. The Portuguese midfielder is also on penalty duty for the Red Devils. Fernandes is 5/1 to open the scoring and 7/4 to score anytime in the match.

Aggregate: Manchester United 1-1 Club Brugge

Manchester United host Club Brugge at Old Trafford on Thursday night for the second leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie.

Manchester United drew 1-1 at a sold-out Jan Breydelstadion in Belgium last week. Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis opened the scoring for the home side – his goal was assisted by former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. Anthony Martial equalised before half-time, earning his side a valuable away goal.

Manchester United extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to six matches with a 3-0 win over Watford on Sunday. Bruno Fernandes opened his United account from the penalty spot before second-half goals from Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood. Martial has 15 goals this season and has now scored in each of his last three matches.

The win sees United move up to fifth in the table, which could end up being good enough for a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Brugge maintain a nine-point lead at the top of the Belgian Super League following Sunday’s 1-0 win over Sporting Charleroi. Eder Balanta – who won’t feature on Thursday – scored the only goal of the match in the first minute. A number of players were rested for the match.

United have won five out five matches at home to Belgian opponents – including a 1-0 win over Anderlecht in the 1956 European Champion Clubs’ Cup preliminary round. Brugge, meanwhile, have never won a match in England in 12 previous attempts. Their most recent visit ended in a 2-1 defeat to Leicester in 2016.

The draw for the last 16 will take place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.
