Manchester United transfer news: Interest in Exauce Mpembele & ‘huge offer’ to Hannibal Mejbri

Manchester United & Exauce Mpembele

Manchester United fans are introduced to a couple of new names on Tuesday in the transfer market.

The first is 17-year-old striker Exauce Mpembele.

Mpembele plies his trade for Ligue 1 side Lille.

The 17-year-old Belgian forward scored an impressive 35 goals in all competitions last season, as he turned out for Lille’s U17 and U19 sides.

According to Belgian news outlet DH, Man United are one of several high profile clubs considering a move to sign Mpembele.

Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and RB Salzburg are also named as potential suitors for the teenager.

So will Man United sign Mpembele? That’s far from certain, as DH note that Lille are looking to lock Mpembele down to a long-term deal.

‘Huge offer’ for Hannibal Mejbri

Another youngster linked to Man United this week is 16-year-old Monaco midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.

According to RMC Sport reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi, Manchester United have tabled a “huge contract offer” to Mejbri.

Bouhafsi clearly states that Manchester United “want to sign” Mejbri.

As previously reported by the Daily Mail, Monaco have a contract dispute with Mejbri:

The 16-year-old midfielder has declared he wants to leave Monaco after his father, Lotfi, a former Tunisian footballer, said the relationship with the club had broken down citing a matter of trust.

The family are trying to annul his contract with Monaco which runs until 2021 and there is a chance United could sign him on a free transfer.
