Manchester United reportedly offer Alex Sandro €8m-a-year deal

Man United’s poor defence

Manchester United’s biggest problem in the 2018/19 season has been their defensive issues.

United are currently 7th in the Premier League after 14 games, winning six, drawing four and losing four.

Man United have also let in 23 goals in those 14 games, a shocking record by their standards and the worst record of the current top 15 Premier league teams.

Jose Mourinho’s side have also failed to win their last three games, drawing with both Crystal Palace and Southampton recently.

Sandro’s contract offer

So, it is not too surprising that United are reportedly in the market for some defenders.

One of which is reportedly Juventus and Brazil left-back, Alex Sandro.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Man United have been in contact with Sandro’s representatives and have offered the Brazilian an €8m-a-year deal.

Sandro joined Juventus from FC Porto in the summer of 2015 for a fee of around £23 million.

Since joining the Serie A giants, Sandro has made 132 appearances, in which he has scored nine and assisted 19.

Sandro is also having a solid start to the 2018/19 campaign.

The full-back has made 18 appearances across all competitions for Juventus so far and has assisted two in that time.

However, as Juventus are currently top of the Serie A and now have Cristiano Ronaldo, the lure of Man United may not be too appealing to Sandro.

Especially given United may not even finish in the top four of the Premier League this year.
