Manchester United ready to break transfer record for Sancho – Standard

Manchester United lead the chase

Manchester United are reportedly leading the chase to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, with the Red Devils willing to break their transfer record.

Sancho has been at the centre of transfer rumours for a few months now.

The Englishman has been simply sensational for Borussia Dortmund this season, scoring 17 and assisting 19.

As a result, there are reportedly plenty of suitors.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with Sancho.

United are reportedly working on a deal, while Frank Lampard’s Chelsea have not been put off by Dortmund’s valuation.

Now, a new report has suggested that Manchester United are leading the race to sign Sancho.

Not only that, but they are willing to break their transfer record to seal a deal.

United willing to break transfer record

According to the Evening Standard, ‘Manchester United are leading the race for Jadon Sancho’.

Their report claims that certain figures at Borussia Dortmund are ‘increasingly believing’ that Sancho will join United.

It’s also explained that Manchester United are willing to commit a serious amount of funds to sign him.

In fact, the Standard claim: ‘United are ready to make him the most expensive player in their history.

Sancho will supposedly cost upwards of £100 million, but Dortmund’s asking price could rise as high as £120 million.

Interestingly, it’s also claimed that Dortmund are expecting some interest to come from Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is ‘reluctant to spend the figures required’ to sign Sancho, though.

Meanwhile, ‘Solskjaer and Ed Woodward consider Sancho an ideal fit at United – and a marquee signing who could become a superstar at Old Trafford.’
