According to a report from Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Premier League giants Manchester United are seriously interested in Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic.
Zivkovic, a 21-year-old Serbian international winger, joined Benfica from long-time club Partizan Belgrade last summer on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract.
He put pen-to-paper on a 5-year-deal with the Portuguese powerhouse, and went on to make 15 appearances in the Liga NOS last season.
The technically-gifted starlet has started the current campaign in impressive form, and picked up an assist during a start versus CSKA Moscow in the Champions League last week.
As per the aforementioned report from O Jogo, Zivkovic’s fine showings have not gone unnoticed across Europe, with Manchester United expressing a continued interest in the Serb.
It is claimed that Red Devils scouts have been present at every Benfica match so far this season, with ‘special attention’ being paid to Zivkovic.
The report also goes on to state that United boss Jose Mourinho has been given very positive feedback on the youngster’s progress, and that Premier League rivals Arsenal are also interested in his services.
Manchester United are known to be in the market for wing reinforcements, having missed out on the signing of first-choice target Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer.
