Manchester United fail to score for third game in a row as Red Devils held in the fog at Crystal Palace

Bore Draw

Manchester United and Crystal Palace played out one of the worst games of the Premier League season on Wednesday, as they drew 0-0 in the fog at Selhurst Park.

For the third game in a row, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s men failed to score, and with the Manchester Derby up next, Pep Guardiola’s team will have seen nothing tonight to make them think that the club’s 21-game winning streak is at risk. However, we all know that form often goes out the window in derbies.

The draw at Selhurst was probably a fair result, as United had lots of possession, but failed to threaten. Crystal Palace were very well organised, and defended excellently. However, the Eagles lacked an attacking edge, as they so often do without star man Wilfired Zaha.

Speaking post-match on Sky Sports, Gary Neville expressed his concern that Man United’s recent performances may be a cause for concern.

United’s attack, even without Antony Martial, who was missing tonight, is too good to go three games without scoring.

Bruno Fernandes, who has been the catalyst for so much of the Red Devils’ success this season, along with Marcus Rashford, have played a lot of football of late, and both look tired. Even a returning Edinson Cavani couldn’t spur the visitors on tonight.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted in his post-match interview that United were flat tonight. He will be hoping that his team can get their spark back sooner rather than later .
