Calabria impresses in Milan
Manchester United are interested in AC Milan full-back Davide Calabria, according to the Mirror via Calciomercato.
Calabria is a product of AC Milan’s youth team and has made 47 appearances for their second team, scoring five and assisting one in that time.
The 22-year-old then made his AC Milan senior debut in 2015 and has gone on to make 79 appearances across all competitions.
Calabria’s 2018/19 season has been particularly impressive. The right-back has made 27 appearances across all competitions for Milan, scoring one and assisting one.
Calabria to replace Valencia
Man United’s reported interest in Calabria is not too much of a surprise given they are set to lose one of their own right-backs.
Antonio Valencia has spent much of his career in Manchester racking up over 300 appearances.
However, Valencia is now 33 years of age and has spent much of this season out injured.
Valencia’s contract is also set to expire in July of this year.
Man United did have the option to renew the Ecuadorian’s deal recently but they opted against it.

Man United do also have Diogo Dalot to replace Valencia when he leaves.
However, Dalot is just 19 years of age and being United’s only out and out first-team right-back may be too much of a challenge for the young defender.
Ashley Young has to been playing at right-back this campaign for United. But like Valencia, Young is in the twilight years of his career.
