Manchester United have ended their chase for Eric Dier according to the Mirror, after realising they were wasting their time trying to prise him away from Tottenham Hotspur.
It had been thought Dier was open to a move, and United have made several offers, culminating in a £60 million reported bid – yet this was the final straw for Jose Mourinho and his board, and they’re now trying to move on to other targets.
Mourinho has made it very clear that he’s annoyed with the window this summer, and while his board are doing everything they can, it doesn’t mean players will be obtained due to other clubs and the amount of money being spent.
One player who United could then turn to is Nemanja Matic, with the player left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour, and rumours of an exit swirling.
Now Chelsea have landed a forward in Alvaro Morata, they may turn their attentions to selling unwanted players, and be willing to do business with Man United.
