Manchester United pair Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford have responded to the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer leaves Manchester United

The headline news in the footballing world on Sunday is of course that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left Manchester United.

Solskjaer’s final game in charge of the Red Devils came on Saturday, when they were put to the sword by a relegation-battling Watford side.

This would prove to be the final nail in the Norwegian’s United coffin, after embarrassing defeats to the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Young Boys already this season.

Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford respond to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacking

On the back of Solskjaer being sacked, two Manchester United stars have since taken to social media to respond to the news.

Harry Maguire, the club’s current captain, took to Twitter to send a heartfelt thank you message to his now former boss:

You signed me for the best club in the world and gave me the biggest honour in football. Huge respect and forever grateful. Thankyou for everything boss. Legend

And following was Marcus Rashford, who opted for a simple message, posting a picture of himself and Solskjaer with the caption ‘Club legend’, followed by a red heart emoji:
