Defensive reinforcement for Man United?
Manchester United are exploring the possibility of making a move for a Brazilian central defender in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils have really struggled at the back for a couple of years now and are in need of a new central defender.
Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are hardly Manchester United quality while other defenders have struggled.
Eric Bailly has hardly impressed recently while Victor Lindelöf has been struggling with injury problems too.
With all that in mind, it’s safe to say that Manchester United need a top quality defender in the next transfer window.
Several names have been linked with the club recently, Kalidou Koulibaly being one of them.
Eder Militao is another name that has been closely linked over the past couple of weeks.
However, there is now a new name being linked with a move and it may not exactly excite Man United fans.
Looking at Ligue 1
That is because it is being reported that Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are exploring a deal to sign Bordeaux defender Pablo.
The Brazilian central defender joined the French club in 2015 but failed to impress initially.
He then returned to Brazil on loan to Corinthians and impressed.
Upon returning from that loan, he has not looked back since.
He has impressed this season with the French side and that has lead to interest from around Europe.
According to Fox Sports in Brazil, he is now a potential target for Jose Mourinho.
Their report states that ‘only European teams with high investment power will be able to negotiate with the French to hire Pablo.’
Safe to say, Manchester United are one of the those and if they want the defender, they will likely push for him in January.
