Ole building a young Man United team
Manchester United are reportedly ‘confident’ that they can complete a £25 million deal to sign Newcastle youngster Sean Longstaff.
The Red Devils look to be rebuilding their squad, following Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s first season in charge.
A number of players are set to leave the club when their contracts expire, with Ander Herrera being one of them.
As a result, Manchester United have been linked with a whole host of players.
Now, they are being heavily linked with Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff, and the latest report suggests Man United are ‘confident’ of signing the player.
United ‘confident’ of securing Longstaff signing
According to the Mirror, Man United are looking to secure the services of 21-year-old Longstaff.
Their report claims that ‘United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer intends to build on the £15m capture of Daniel James from Swansea by securing the services of Longstaff, as part of his Old Trafford rebuild.’
The Mirror continue by explaining that, despite Longstaff’s comments about Newcastle recently, Man United are ‘confident’ they can sign him.
They also claim that the uncertainty surrounding Newcastle’s takeover and Rafael Benitez’s future should not be a potential stumbling block.
Finally, the report claims that Man United are now looking to sign young home-grown talent in the summer window, and are also targeting moves for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and one of Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt or Leicester’s Harry Maguire.
