Manchester United booed off as #Sack Ole trends at half-time in Atalanta clash

Manchester United 2-0 down

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United are currently locked in Champions League action against Serie A outfit Atalanta, in what already feels like a must-win game.

The Red Devils were stung by a shock 2-1 defeat to Swiss side Young Boys on the opening matchday of the Champions League season, and needed a last-gasp, and frankly undeserved Cristiano Ronaldo goal to see off Villarreal in matchday 2.

And their poor form in Europe has continued this evening, with the Red Devils currently 2-0 down to Atalanta at half-time. Former Chelsea duo Davide Zappacosta and Marco Pasalic combined to give the Bergamo outfit the lead before Merih Demiral, who had earlier been signalling to come off, powered in a header to double the visitors’ lead.

Should they fail to come back, it would represent a massive ask for Manchester United to qualify top of their group, as they would most likely need a result away at Atalanta in the next round of fixtures.

Fans begin to turn

Ahead of what is to be a very tricky set of fixtures, it is clear that the Manchester United faithful are beginning to lose faith in their former legendary player-turned-manager. His side were booed off the pitch at half-time, and #SackOle has begun trending on social media since the opening goal was conceded.

With a game against Liverpool coming on Sunday, it is not going to get any easier for Solskjaer, and the pressure will continue to build on the Norwegian.

Will he still be in the dugout come the turn of the year?
