Manchester United in advanced talks to sign Inter Milan forward Ivan Perisic

Manchester United are in advanced talks with Inter Milan over a deal for Ivan Perisic, according to Paris United.

The Red Devils attempted to sign the forward last summer with manager Jose Mourinho a keen admirer and are now looking to test their luck again following his sensational 2018 World Cup form.

The arrival of the Croatian international is expected to force Anthony Martial further out of the door at Old Trafford with the likes of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur circling.

Perisic has played a starring role in helping Croatia reach Sunday’s World Cup final in Moscow scoring in Vatreni’s semi-final win over England.

The 29-year-old also helped his club side Inter return to the Champions League as he netted 11 times in 37 Serie A appearances last season.

Last summer, Perisic came close to completing a move to Old Trafford and now the Red Devils have returned with negotiations between the two clubs at an advanced stage.

Further discussions are expected between Inter and United, with Mourinho keen to bring the Croat to Manchester.

Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sell Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United this summer should the Red Devils make a suitable offer for the defender, according to Yahoo Sports UK.

Following a dispute over wages between Spurs and the player, the North London club have decided to sell the 29-year-old and are now willing to do business with their Premier League rival.

Next summer, Alderweirld’s contract is due to expire, or Tottenham have the option of activating an option in his contract which would extend it by one-year but would also activate a £25m release clause.

With Mauricio Pochettino backing Tottenham’s decision, the club are looking to offload the defender to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer or for a low fee.

Manchester United have now become Spurs’ biggest hope of selling Alderweirld for a large fee and the club are willing to now deal with them.
