Manchester City willing to trigger Saul Niguez’s Ateltico Madrid release clause

Manchester City are willing to trigger the 150m euro release clause of Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, according to El Chiringuito TV.

The club from the Spanish capital are desperate to keep hold of the 23-year-old but could powerless if the clause is triggered.

Pep Guardiola is keen to make Saul his number one summer transfer target as he looks to bolster his midfield options.

It is understood that the Premier League champions have already made contact with the player’s entourage over a move.

City have enquired as to how much it would cost to entice the Spaniard to the Etihad.

They are reportedly willing to offer him improved wages along with paying his substantial release clause.

However, Saul has recently signed a new deal at the Wanda Metropolitano or shown any signs of a willingness to leave.

With David Silva and Fernandinho, 32-years-old and 33-years-old respectively, Guardiola is seeking new long-term options.
