Sterling contract update
Despite the amount of attacking potential in Manchester City’s team this season they are still set to keep hold of one of their longest serving players.
Raheem Sterling was previously linked with a move away from Manchester City.
With the arrival of Jack Grealish, the development of Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne signing a new contract whilst the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva are still at the club, game time for Sterling is likely to be less guaranteed.
However, Gareth Southgate’s use of Sterling at the Euros and his performances showed the quality he still brings to the side. City are now likely to reward him with a new deal.

City’s Messi involvement
Lionel Messi said an emotional goodbye to Barcelona yesterday and it is expected that the Argentine will join PSG in the coming days.

However Manchester City were credited with some interest in the player and with his contract expiring were notably interested last summer in a deal for the then 33 year old.
Messi though said he had received a lot of interest from clubs without naming any.
“I’ve got nothing confirmed with anybody. I had a lot of calls, a lot of interested clubs. At the moment, nothing is closed, but we are talking about a lot of things,” he said.
Could one of them have been City? Pep Guardiola poured cold water on the idea previously.
Pep Guardiola confirms Man City are not gonna sign Leo Messi: “We spent on Jack Grealish and he will wear number 10 because we convinced about him… and thought Leo would stay. Now Messi is NOT in our plans”, @sistoney67 reports. 🔵🚨 #MCFC #Messi

Kane replacement problems
Despite spending a massive amount of money on Jack Grealish Manchester City still wish to pursue a deal for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
Tottenham rely on Kane so heavily for his goals and assists that they are so far intent on stopping him from leaving.
Should the moment come where Kane does in fact leave the club, it is likely that Spurs would have sorted a replacement.
However target Lautaro Martinez may be a difficult player to sign with Inter Milan now looking to extend his current deal.
Inter CEO Beppe Marotta expects Lautaro Martinez to sign a new deal despite interest from Tottenham. It would only guarantee his stay beyond this summer, claim La Repubblica today.https://t.co/v1bVHNXyw3

This could delay a possible sale should Spurs agree to it.
