Manchester City monitoring Dinamo Zagreb’s Marin – Sky

City eyeing Marin

Antonio Marin is a product of Dinamo Zagreb’s youth system.

The 18-year-old wonderkid has made six appearances for Zagreb’s second team, in which he has scored five.

Marin has also already made 13 appearances for Zagreb’s senior side, in which he has provided three assists.

Marin’s bright start to his career has earned him call-ups to several of Croatia’s youth teams.

The winger has played for Croatia at under-15, under-17, under-19 and under-21 level.

One of Marin’s more recent outings saw him provide an assist in the UEFA Youth League, in Zagreb’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City’s under-19 side.

Now, after that game, Sky Sports News are reporting that Manchester City are monitoring Marin.

Man City eight points behind

While Manchester City have enjoyed a solid start to their Champions League campaign, including a 2-0 victory over Zagreb’s first-team, their league performances haven’t quite been up to scratch.

Manchester City’s latest outing saw them lose 2-0 at the Etihad vs Wolves.

As a result, they are now a staggering eight points behind table-topping Liverpool, who are yet to drop a single point in the league this season.

However, Manchester City shouldn’t be too disheartened about their Premier League title prospects.

This is because in January of 2019, Liverpool had a seven-point lead atop the PL, and yet they still managed to finish a point behind Pep Guardiola’s men last season.

Manchester City’s first game back after the international break sees them take on Crystal Palace.
