Man City eyeing a left-back
Speaking in his pre-match press conference before Bournemouth, Pep Guardiola has confirmed Manchester City are looking to strengthen in three or four positions.
One of which, Pep claims, could be the left-back spot.
“There are three or four positions I think we have to try to look for and we have some ideas. I don’t know in the end what is going to happen but it is an option, yeah, to buy a left-back.” As quoted by Goal.
This is hardly surprising given that Benjamin Mendy, City’s supposed main left-back, has been missing for much of this and last season.
One player City are said to be eyeing over the summer is Leicester City left-back, Ben Chilwell.
Chilwell has impressed in a poor Leicester side this season, playing 26 and assisting three.

Zinchenko ready to fight for his place
Another player staking a claim to become Man City’s first-choice left-back is Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Zinchenko filled in at left-back on a few occasions last season and has done the same this campaign.
The youngster was particularly impressive in Man City’s 6-0 win over Chelsea, in which he got two assists.
On potentially becoming Man City’s main left-back, Zinchenko stated:
“We will see what happens, but I am ready to fight for this place.
“I want to learn from all of them in this club and I just try and take the best from them.
“When you play regularly you will get it and be in form and get this rhythm. Always you want to play more but it is what it is. You have to work hard.”As quoted by the Evening Standard.
