Manchester City line up £50million move for Premier League left back

Man City ready to spend big in January

Manchester City are lining up a stunning £50million move for one Premier League left-back ahead of the January transfer window.

Pep Guardiola’s side are favourites to win the title this season and that will come as no surprise.

The Etihad side broke all sorts of records last season and started off this campaign just as they ended the last.

However, they are no longer top of the Premier League.

After going 15 games unbeaten, Manchester City finally lost at the weekend where they were beaten by Chelsea.

Maurizio Sarri’s side came out 2-0 winners following goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz.

That allowed Liverpool to go top after their 4-0 win against Burnley.

Now, Man City will have to play catch-up and they look like they could strengthen heavily in January to ensure they finish top.

£50million move in the offing

The Mirror are reporting on Thursday evening that Manchester City will make a £50million move for Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell in January.

The Englishman has been somewhat of a revelation at the King Power.

He has made a stunning start to the season and was impressive in the last campaign too, so much so that he’s become England’s starting left-back.

Now, Manchester City are looking to sign him in the winter transfer window.

The Mirror claim City hoped Benjamin Mendy would be their long-term answer at left-back but his injuries have caused issues.

It is claimed that Mendy’s injuries have forced Guardiola’s side to ‘consider their options’.

It looks as though they have now made their mind up and Chilwell could soon be Man City’s starting left-back.
