Manchester City injury update ahead of Everton clash

Everton vs Manchester City

Man City travel to Everton on Wednesday as they look to go top of the league.

City currently sit 2nd in the Premier League and after Liverpool drew with West Ham on Monday, they are now just three points off the Reds.

Man City also have a five better goal difference than Liverpool. So, a win vs Everton would see them go temporarily top of the division.

Also, with Man City set to face Chelsea at the weekend, a win vs Everton is vital as City have already lost to Chelsea this season.

As for Everton, they are somewhat struggling for form in recent weeks.

The Toffees have lost three of their last five league games but still sit 9th in the league.

However, their recent poor run of results means they are five points off 7th place.

Heading into the game Everton will be without Yerry Mina, Leighton Banes and Phil Jagielka.

However, Idrissa Gueye should be back fit for Wednesday.

Man City injury update

Man City also have a few injury problems heading into the Everton clash.

Vincent Kompany has missed City’s last four league games through injury and is likely to miss out again.

Benjamin Mendy, however, could feature in some capacity.

On his latest injury Kompany had this to say:

“I will deal with it as I always have. I’m not the guy that can give you the timings, but the key thing is I have a road map as to how best to recover.

“I’ll follow that and you’ll see me on the end as strong as ever.”
