Messi, Sterling & Sane’s impressive goal contribution tally
Lionel Messi is having yet another simply superb campaign.
In 48 games across all competitions this season, the Argentine has netted 48 and assisted 22.
He also still has a possible two more appearances before Barcelona’s 2018/19 season comes to a close.
Messi’s 2017/18 season saw him score 45 and assist 18 in 54 games.
With these stats, the Barcelona forward is just one of three players in Europe’s top five leagues to reach double figures for both goals and assists in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons.
The other two players come from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Both Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane have managed to achieve the same feat as one of the world’s greats.

Sterling has scored 23 and assisted 17 in 50 games this campaign, with his 2017/18 stats also standing at 23 goals and 17 assists.

Man City going for the treble
With two of the only three players in Europe’s top five leagues to hit double figures for goals and assists two seasons running, it isn’t too much of a surprise that City are going for a treble.

The Citizens clinched the League Cup earlier this year vs Chelsea, before going on to win their second successive Premier League at Brighton.
Now, they have a chance to win the FA Cup vs Watford on May 18th.
