City spending passes £160m
Pep Guardiola is set to add another new face to his Manchester City squad. The Mirror report that the club is on the brink of signing Croatian starlet Ante Coric from Dinamo Zagreb. The 19-year-old midfielder is billed as the ‘Croatian Messi’. No pressure, then.

He’s only of the most sought-after players in Europe with Liverpool among the clubs battling for his signature. City look likely to complete the £10 million deal this weekend.
It will take their summer spending over the £160m mark, an astonishing figure. But, then again, one has to consider that a lot of Guardiola’s recruits have been teenagers. He’s building for the future.
Coric’s role at City
Coric was a part of the Croatia squad at Euro 2016. He did not actually play in that tournament but should feature for years to come for the national team.
It’s unclear whether he’ll move to City immediately, should the deal go through without a hitch.
Guardiola opted to let Gabriel Jesus stay with Palmeiras until the end of the Brazilian league season.
