Manchester City vs Wolves

Manchester City and Wolves are set to go head-to-head in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off.

The tie is a must-win for Manchester City. The Sky Blues would claim top spot from Chelsea in gameweek 15 after seeing off Watford.

However, it is still incredibly tight atop the Premier League at present, with just two points separating 1st and 3rd.

So, given Liverpool’s impressive form, and Chelsea’s handy fixture this weekend, anything but a win against Wolves would likely see Pep Guardiola and co. fall from the PL summit.

Actually getting the better of Wolves is easier said than done, though. Bruno Lage’s side do not score many goals, but they are a tough nut to crack, with a late Divock Origi strike having proven the difference in Liverpool picking up all three points at Molineux last weekend.

Pep Guardiola on Phil Foden & Erling Haaland

Ahead of the Wolves tie, Pep Guardiola would speak to the press on Friday afternoon.

When doing so, the Man City boss discussed a number of topics, including team news. Guardiola was asked about the fitness of Nathan Ake and Phil Foden, to which he responded:

“We will assess this afternoon at training.”

He continued:

“Phil Foden – still has niggle but every time he plays he will get better and better. He will say how he feels. Knowing Phil he’ll want to be there for us so we’ll see, game-by-game.”

The Spanish tactician was also asked about Erling Haaland, following Mino Raiola’s revelation that the Sky Blues represent one of the four clubs whom the striker could join:

“Don’t ask me about Erling Haaland, I won’t answer,” Guardiola replied.
