Manchester City to announce second massive summer signing today

Ederson to take Manchester City medical today

Manchester City’s incredible summer spending spree will continue today.

On Friday, Manchester City signed Monaco schemer Bernardo Silva and added to an awesome array of midfield talent at The Etihad.

On Tuesday, Manchester City will attempt to fix up a problem position with the signing of Benfica goalkeeper Ederson.

40 million euros for Ederson

Portuguese newspaper A Bola report today that Ederson will take his Manchester City medical today.

Once medical tests are completed, Ederson will sign his contract at Manchester City.

Manchester City will pay 40 million euros for Ederson and the goalkeeper will sign on for five years at The Etihad.

The second most expensive goalkeeper ever

Ederson will become the second most expensive goalkeeper ever. The fee paid by Manchester City will be split between Benfica (50%), Rio Ave (30%) & Gestifute (20%).

Manchester City have moved to sign another goalkeeper after Claudio Bravo’s shocking season after joining from Barcelona last summer.

Bravo replaced Joe Hart, who spent a season on loan littered with mistakes at Torino.

Willy Caballero, who kept goal for Manchester City in the final weeks of the season, was released last week.

Ederson appears to have the physical attributes to acclimatise to the Premier League. At just 23, he has established himself as the best goalkeeper playing in Portugal.
