Splash the cash
Manchester City have had a £45m bid rejected for Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy, with the French side valuing him higher than recent signing Kyle Walker.
The defender made a name for himself last season, as did many of his teammates, as the Ligue 1 side won the title and impressed in the Champions League.
Mendy was seen as one of the catalysts for that impressive season among City’s Bernardo Silva, Kylian Mbappe and Chelsea’s Tiemoué Bakayoko.
Now, it looks as though the player certainly impressed those at Manchester City during their clash with Monaco in the Champions League.
The clubs initial £45m bid has been rejected according to Bryan Swanson of Sky Sports and Monaco look set to demand more than what City paid for Kyle Walker, which was £50m.
This one could be set to drag on for a little bit longer.
