Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette tonight put the finishing touch on a wonderful team goal for France, after Anthony Martial set up his compatriot with a classy assist.
Les Bleus are currently locked in action with world champions Germany at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, with both sides having opted for strong starting XIs.
The likes of Emre Can, Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos, Ilkay Gundogan and Mesut Ozil were given the nod by Germany boss Joachim Löw in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Didier Deschamps, meanwhile, opted for a 4-3-3, with Anthony Martial and Kylian Mbappe flanking Alexandre Lacazette in a dangerous attacking trident.
The matchup was viewed as a good opportunity for both countries to gauge their level ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia, with the away side taking the lead through a splendid team goal after 33 minutes.
The move started after Kylian Mbappe was played in down the right flank, with the PSG prodigy playing the ball back to Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso.
Tolisso in turn pushed the ball to midfield partner Blaise Matuidi, who proceeded to spread a perfect lofted switch to Lucas Digne of Barcelona.
The Blaugrana stopper picked out Anthony Martial with a first-time volleyed cross, before a wonderful piece of quick feet from the Manchester United star inside Germany’s box saw him leave Niklas Süle for dead to square for Alexandre Lacazette’s tap-in.
