Man United’s interest in Yannick Carrasco confirmed

The wife of Dalian Yifang star Yannick Carrasco has this afternoon confirmed that Premier League Manchester United are interested in his signature.

Carrasco moves to China

25-year-old wide-man Carrasco made the surprise move to Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Yifang in February of last year, following a two-and-a-half year stint with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

The Belgian endured an up-and-down stint with Los Colchoneros, with the highlight of Carrasco’s time with Diego Simeone’s men having come in May of 2016, when he netted a late equaliser in the Champions League final versus Real Madrid, eventually sending the clash to Extra-Time.

However, his inconsistencies led to the Genk youth product being heavily-linked with a departure from the Spanish capital last winter.

And, despite rumoured interest from the likes of Juventus and Arsenal, Carrasco eventually opted to join Chinese club Dalian Yifang.

Carrasco a wanted man

However, numerous reports over recent weeks have suggested that Carrasco is already eyeing a return to Europe.

The former Monaco man, who appeared 4 times for Belgium at last summer’s World Cup, is said to be on the radar of all of Manchester United, Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Arsenal.

‘They’re very interested’

And Carrasco’s wife this afternoon confirmed that clubs from all of Europe’s top leagues have made offers for the Dalian man’s signature.

Speaking in an interview with Belgian outlet RTBF, Noemie Happart revealed:

‘There is a lot going on.’

‘He has received offers from many clubs in Germany, Spain, England and Italy. But nothing is concrete and nothing has been signed.’

When questioned specifically on the rumoured interest of Manchester United in her husband, Happart confirmed:

‘Yes, they’re very interested, I don’t hide it but nothing has been signed.’

‘Yannick likes China, but it’s a very different culture and we are far away from our families and friends. We’ll see what happens and how it unfolds, but it is possible we’ll return to Europe.’
